New Life after Retirement

My husband Dick and I are both retired, at least this time last year we were! We arrived in January to spend a year teaching English with ICEE in SE Asia and are loving it!
The first stop was two months of the ICEE Intensive Training Course! We hit ESL, culture, language and more! A trip to Mt. Merapi revealed the destruction caused in the October eruptions. We also had an opportunity to visit Borobudur, a historic Buddhist landmark and one of the wonders of Indonesia. An exciting and memorable elephant ride rounded up the pre-launch period for us.
It’s now the middle of the spring semester and we are busy teaching English. Our classes include university students and lecturers alike. We are also working in the International Classes of one university. Here students study their subjects all in English.
The foundation of our ICEE method is the English Corner (EC). This semester my EC is on Relationships! English Corners are times set aside with an instructor and a small group of students to discuss any one of an expansive variety of subjects! I am finding that Relationships seems to be the perfect subject for a group of university students!
For me, this experience is so great because I have an opportunity to use my abilities after retirement to help people, especially the young men and women of Indonesia.
